LUGA x IBLA

Those plants do not need nitrogen fertilizers for growing, which is the reason why they are pretty ecological. Their particular property consists of fixing nitrogen from the air through a symbiose with bacteria. This plant family is the most important source of protein for feeding animals but also for human consumption. Members of this plant family such as chick peas, lentils and beans are more and more produced in Luxembourg. During the visit, you will learn more details about legumes and their diversity in Luxembourg. In addition you will be able to cook delicious meals from them as we provide you with recipes to take away.
